The SAIMechE Council is thankful for your dedication and efforts that you have put into SAIMechE operations throughout your tenure as Chief Executive Officer since 2007. We also welcome your expression of willingness to continue serving at SAIMechE, albeit, in a different capacity.
Thousands of our members have benefited from services that you have coordinated, impacting on all categories comprising students, graduate members, members, fellows and honorary fellows.
The success and sustainability of SAIMechE depends on our ability to deliver value to members, and to properly interact with stakeholder organizations, spanning, inter alia, government, statutory bodies and other voluntary associations. Your role in negotiations with The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) has been essential and paved the way for us to remain a recognized voluntary association that benefits our members.
Through the introduction and implementation of PrivySeal, members are now able to securely verify their good-standing with SAIMechE and to communicate this with interested parties, without delay.
You have worked very well with Chairpersons from various SAIMechE branches throughout the country in retaining members, especially as this channel of interacting is very effective in delivering value to members.
During your thirteen-year tenure as CEO, we have seen steady growth in student membership, where benefits of membership are communicated during the early stages of students’ careers. You have demonstrated tremendous support to Marietjie Jansen van Rensburg in coordinating student chapter initiatives at various institutions across the country.
We are grateful that you have afforded SAIMechE sufficient time to plan for your departure, where you further participated in handing over leadership responsibilities to the General Manager, Uncel Mhelembe.
We wish you well with your future endeavours and look forward to continued collaboration towards the enhancement of value offering to our members.

President, SAIMechE
